Planning & Growing
Would you like to see your organisation grow stronger, but not sure where to start? Do you see a bigger role for your organisation but feel you need help to get there? Our support team can work with you to identify what you need to help to make your ambitions become real and produce an action plan for what you want to achieve.
Q: How will we know if we are ready to grow?
We want to help organisations run as well as they can and a governance ‘healthcheck’ is a great way to identify your strengths and opportunities for development. This can be done in several ways – depending on what suits your committee best. We can then help you write a development plan to make sure you make the most of the learning. We will treat any information coming from the healthcheck confidentially.
Q: What areas can you help us look at?
Our support team can help you look at your strengths and weaknesses, your unique selling points, the added value you bring, review your capacity, help understand full cost recovery and consider your areas of risk.
Q: Can you help with business plans and feasibility studies?
Yes, we offer a full business plan and feasibility study service. These are chargeable services but we can help you to access funding to help meet the costs.
Q: How can you support our committee/trustees?
Trustees are vital for a growing organisation. As part of the healthcheck we will run a session with your trustees to gauge their levels of comfort with risk, identify their concerns and consider how best they can be supported in your development plan.
Q: Can you help us review an existing project?
Yes, we have a project review process which we can deliver to help identify possible areas of growth or development. This can be used as evidence to existing funders or in support of future funding applications. There is usually a small charge for this service.
Q: How can we become involved in consortium bids and approaches?
We are keen to support the development of more consortium approaches across the third sector in West Dunbartonshire. If you are interested in this style of funding approach, contact us and register your area of interest. We will introduce you to other organisations in your field of work and can help support the development of partnership agreements and joint bids.
Q: We think we would like to look at contracting and tendering, can you help?
Yes, we are happy to chat this through with you. If you want to progress we can also healthcheck your organisation to make sure you have everything in place. We work closely with the WDC Economic Development Section and Business Gateway and will also link you in with them to make sure that you receive all of the information and support you need.
Q: We are thinking about taking on a community asset – can you help?
Yes, we can. We have supported a number of community asset projects in the last few years. We can help you consider your capacity, the available market, possible funding and help you submit the necessary plans and applications.
