Contracting & Procurement - the help we can provide to organisations
looking
to get involved in service level agreements and contracting
Voluntary organisations are increasingly being asked to undertake
work
on behalf of other organisations. Where this is the case written
agreements will be put in place to secure the use of resources to
serve those purposes. These will be “Condition of Grant”
documents, Service Level Agreements, or Contracts.
The larger the sums of money involved, the more detailed these
documents are likely to be. It is vitally important that the terms
of these documents are
understood and that the conditions they impose are both achievable
and desirable. Equally important is the group’s ability to
show that they have delivered the required service.
Should Voluntary organisations get involved with these funding
arrangements? For more and more organisations there will not be
a choice. And for groups that want to extend the scope of what they
do, moving into contracted service delivery arrangements may offer
the best way to manage the working arrangements in order to deliver
much needed support to vulnerable communities.
West Dunbartonshire CVS can support organisations through the processes
of preparing costings and bidding for work, creating systems to
deliver, monitor and manage the work being undertaken, reporting
to service users, trustees and funders, and reflecting on associated
organisational development issues.
