and can help you ensure that you have collected all of the information
you need to make your application as strong as it can be.

Big Lottery News:
The Big Lottery Fund in Scotland (BIG) recently announced its new
£257 million programme to bring real improvements to communities.
Between 2006 and 2009, funds will be available to a wide range of
groups with BIG expecting most grants to be in the range of £10,000
to £1 million. Investments will fall into the following 4
categories -
Growing Community Assets through which we will help communities
become stronger by acquiring or developing assets for their own
use.
Dynamic Inclusive Communities through which we will help build stronger
more vibrant communities
Life Transitions through which we will support projects that help
people deal with change in their lives and encourage them to move
on.
Supporting 21st Century Life through which we will invest in projects
that enable people to cope with new patterns of life and the pace
of change communities are experiencing.

Awards for All Special:
Awards for All Scotland are supported by the Scottish Arts Council,
the Big Lottery, and Sport Scotland. Its aim is to promote community
activity in differing fields such as sport, history, the arts and
education and as of this May Awards for All have increased the funding
opportunities available to groups by enabling you to apply for grants
of between £500 and £10,000. The increase is aimed at
heritage, community activities and projects that promote education,
environment and health in the local community. Remember, you can
apply at any time for a grant and the application form is short
and simple and you will be told if you are successful or not within
8 weeks. Here is a list of some of the local groups who have recently
received assistance from our Group Support and Finance Team with
their grant applications and have been successful with a grand total
of £28,422.40.
