Q: What kind of research work do you do?
WDCVS carries out a variety of general sector based research each year – searching published literature, best practice examples and conducting local snapshot research projects. Access to this research is available to any organisation registered as operating in the West Dunbartonshire area free of charge. We also undertake a number of research commissions each year (using qualitative and quantitative methods) deliverable through email, telephone and focus groups. Q: Can you help us design training just for our organisation?
Yes, we can. Each year we have support a number of community based organisations in this way. We can work with you to design training that meets your needs, from building on your idea to creating session plans and then training your staff to deliver. This is a chargeable service but we can assist you to access funding to help meet the cost.
Q: Our funding is ending and we need a project review for the final report – can WDCVS help?
Yes, our staff are experienced in project review and evaluations and have carried out work at local, regional and national level. We would be happy to meet with you and chat through your needs. This is a chargeable service but we can assist you to access funding to help meet the cost.
Q: We need a technical study done for a piece of work but don’t know how to go about writing the brief – can you help?
Yes we can. We can meet with you and help you to think through what you need from the consultancy and help you to write the tender specification/brief.
Q: We’ve written small grant applications before but would really like someone to write up this larger bid for us – can you help?
Our staff provide support to organisations to help them write up their own bids and funding applications – this is free of charge. If however you wish us to write the bid or application for you this is a chargeable service. The charge will depend on the size of the bid and the time involved. Please get in touch and we can discuss your needs.
Q: Our manager has gone off long term sick and we don’t know what to do – can you help?
We know this can be a challenge, especially for small organisations. WDCVS can provide interim management and project management support that meets your needs. Time limited support may be provided free but longer term support may be chargeable. Please contact us to discuss your needs.
