West Dunbartonshire CVS employs Scotland’s first qualified PQASSO mentor, specifically to support local organisations to install performance management systems, including PQASSO. You can get advice about performance monitoring, help to set up management information systems, and assistance to develop your staff’s skills and understanding of performance management processes. These services are not expensive (they are free to small organisations in West Dunbartonshire) and are available to organisations throughout Scotland

As voluntary organisations grow it quickly becomes more difficult to answer these questions. Fortunately there are methods available that can make this task easier.

In some instances it may be necessary to respond to a founder with detailed information in the way they particularly require. However, their perspective will not tell the whole story, and your organisation will need the complete picture sooner or later. Your organisation and its objectives are unique – the quality and effectiveness of the services you deliver are central to your existence – so it is vital that you have a clear perspective on how well you perform.

You should have a system in place to keep you informed about how effective your services are and how good your organisation is at organising people and resources to provide those services.
